Senior Facilities Manager - Rail Project


EWI are seeking a highly experienced Facilities Manager to oversee and manage all facilities-related aspects of a major freight and passenger rail project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is an urgent requirement for a leading European consultancy engaged in delivering world-class rail solutions in the Middle East.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational management and maintenance of rail facilities, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with international standards.

  • Develop and implement facility management strategies, policies, and procedures tailored to the unique requirements of rail projects.

  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of facilities management within the project lifecycle.

  • Manage budgets, contracts, and procurement processes related to facility operations.

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team, providing strategic guidance and ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.

  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and performance evaluations of facilities to maintain optimal functioning and safety.

  • Liaise with stakeholders, including government entities, contractors, and consultants, to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.

  • Implement sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering/Rail Engineering/Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering

  • A minimum of 20 years' overall experience, with at least 10 years' experience in the rail sector.

  • Proven experience in a leadership role, with at least 5 years at the same level within large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of international standards and best practices in facilities management for rail projects.

  • Strong understanding of operational requirements for freight and passenger rail systems.

  • Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management and collaboration within complex, multicultural environments.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

  • Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage but not mandatory.
