We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specialising in Life Safety Systems (LSS) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems to support the planning, design and delivery of complex building and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will take technical responsibility for systems such as fire detection and alarm, voice evacuation, emergency lighting, security, access control, CCTV, structured cabling, communications and building management interfaces. You will develop electrical and ELV concepts, specifications, calculations, schematics, layouts and technical documentation in line with applicable standards, regulations and project requirements.

You will coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors and other engineering disciplines to ensure fully integrated and buildable solutions. Your responsibilities will include reviewing designs, equipment selections and technical submissions; supporting tendering and procurement activities; monitoring installation quality; attending site meetings and inspections; and assisting with testing, commissioning and handover. You will identify technical risks, resolve design and construction issues, maintain project documentation and provide guidance to less experienced engineers. The role may also involve managing external specialists and contributing to project schedules, cost control and quality assurance.

You should hold a degree or comparable qualification in electrical engineering, building services engineering or a related discipline, with substantial professional experience in LSS and ELV design or project delivery. Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards and approval processes is essential, together with experience using engineering and documentation software. Previous involvement in complex commercial, industrial, healthcare, transport or mission-critical environments would be advantageous. You are expected to work independently, communicate confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and demonstrate a structured, solution-oriented approach. Professional fluency in English is required; knowledge of an additional language and relevant professional certification would be beneficial.
