Lead Stormwater & Water Resources Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Stormwater & Water Resources Engineer to provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure, stormwater and water management projects. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to guide the delivery of complex projects, contribute to sustainable design outcomes and support the development of high-performing technical teams. You will work closely with clients, project managers, planners, environmental specialists and other engineering disciplines to deliver practical, compliant and cost-effective solutions.

Your responsibilities will include leading stormwater and water resources investigations, concept and detailed design, flood assessments, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, drainage strategies and water-sensitive urban design outcomes. You will prepare and review technical reports, drawings, specifications, calculations and design documentation, while ensuring projects meet relevant legislation, authority requirements, standards and quality expectations. You will also provide technical advice during planning, approvals, construction and asset delivery phases, resolve complex engineering issues, manage project risks and contribute to fee proposals, scopes, programmes and client presentations.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in civil or environmental engineering and have substantial experience in stormwater, floodplain management, water resources or related infrastructure projects. Professional registration or eligibility for registration, together with strong knowledge of Australian standards, legislation and approval processes, is highly regarded. Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software, such as TUFLOW, XP-SWMM, DRAINS, MUSIC or equivalent platforms, will be advantageous. You will bring sound commercial awareness, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong stakeholder management capability and a collaborative leadership style. The ability to mentor engineers, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within agreed timeframes is essential.
