Manager, Construction Compliance
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Construction Compliance to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of construction compliance frameworks across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role will ensure that construction activities are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, planning conditions, building standards, contractual obligations, health and safety requirements, and internal policies. You will provide authoritative advice to project teams, contractors and senior stakeholders, helping to identify risks early and promote a consistent, high standard of compliance.
Key responsibilities will include managing compliance reviews, audits and inspections throughout the project lifecycle; monitoring contractor performance and the close-out of corrective actions; maintaining accurate records, registers and reporting systems; and preparing clear reports, recommendations and escalation papers for senior management. You will support the review of construction documentation, including management plans, inspection and test plans, technical submissions, permits and completion records. The role will also investigate compliance issues, coordinate responses to regulatory or stakeholder enquiries, contribute to incident and non-conformance investigations, and develop guidance, procedures and training to strengthen compliance capability across project teams.
To be successful, you will have substantial experience in construction compliance, quality assurance, construction management, regulatory oversight or a closely related discipline, supported by a relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience. You will bring sound knowledge of applicable construction legislation, codes, standards, contracts and approval processes, together with experience auditing complex projects and managing corrective actions. Strong analytical, communication and influencing skills are essential, as is the ability to interpret technical information, prioritise competing demands and build effective relationships with contractors, consultants, regulators and internal stakeholders. A proactive, practical approach, strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety, integrity and continuous improvement are also required. Relevant professional accreditation, auditor training or experience in large-scale infrastructure or public-sector projects will be highly regarded.
