Piping Superintendent II
We are seeking an experienced Piping Superintendent II to lead and coordinate piping construction activities on a major industrial project. The successful candidate will oversee field execution from planning through completion, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, quality standards, and applicable regulations. This role will provide daily leadership to foremen, subcontractors, craft personnel, and support teams while maintaining strong communication with construction management, engineering, project controls, procurement, and commissioning groups.
Responsibilities include reviewing piping plans, isometrics, material requirements, work packages, and installation sequences; coordinating site resources, equipment, and manpower; monitoring progress against established milestones; and identifying and resolving technical, logistical, and constructability issues. You will supervise pipe fabrication, installation, fit-up, welding, supports, pressure testing, flushing, reinstatement, and punch-list completion. The role will also require regular site inspections, verification of completed work, accurate reporting of productivity and progress, participation in planning meetings, and close coordination with quality control to ensure documentation and inspection requirements are satisfied. You will promote a strong safety culture by enforcing procedures, conducting field observations, supporting toolbox talks, and addressing unsafe conditions promptly.
Applicants should have substantial experience supervising piping construction in an industrial, energy, manufacturing, chemical, or similar environment, with a strong understanding of piping systems, construction methods, drawings, specifications, and relevant codes and standards. Previous experience leading large multidisciplinary teams and coordinating subcontractors is required. The ability to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams, isometric drawings, plot plans, and construction schedules is essential. Strong organisational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills are expected, along with proficiency in standard construction reporting and scheduling tools. A relevant technical qualification, trade background, safety training, and experience working on complex or fast-paced projects will be advantageous. The position requires regular site presence and the ability to work extended hours or rotational schedules when project demands require.
