Project Manager - Electrification

An exciting opportunity is available for a Project Manager – Electrification to lead the successful delivery of major electrification projects from initial planning through to completion. The role will involve managing project scope, programme, budget, quality, safety and environmental performance while ensuring that all deliverables meet technical, regulatory and customer requirements. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders to maintain progress and resolve issues effectively.

Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining detailed project plans, monitoring costs and forecasts, managing risks and dependencies, and producing clear progress reports for senior stakeholders. You will oversee procurement and contract activities, support design reviews, and ensure that construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities are delivered in accordance with approved specifications. The role will also involve identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, managing change control, leading project meetings, and ensuring that lessons learned are captured and applied across future programmes.

Applicants should have proven experience managing complex engineering, infrastructure, transport, energy or electrification projects, ideally within a regulated or safety-critical environment. A relevant qualification in project management, engineering or a related discipline is desirable, together with experience using structured project controls and commercial management processes. Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to build effective working relationships across technical and non-technical teams. You should be organised, commercially aware and confident making decisions in a changing environment. Knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, traction electrification, charging infrastructure or related technologies would be advantageous. A proactive approach to health and safety, quality assurance and continuous improvement is expected.
