We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Grid Modelling and Compliance to lead the technical delivery of complex power systems studies and grid connection projects. This role will be responsible for developing robust modelling solutions, interpreting network requirements and ensuring that projects meet applicable grid codes, industry standards and connection agreements. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from initial feasibility and concept design through to detailed assessment, commissioning and operational support.
Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing power system models, carrying out load flow, fault level, dynamic, transient stability and harmonic studies, and assessing the performance of generation, storage and demand assets under a range of network conditions. You will define technical requirements, produce high-quality reports and compliance evidence, and support the resolution of technical queries raised by network operators, consultants and other project stakeholders. The role will also involve coordinating specialist engineering inputs, reviewing design deliverables, managing technical risks and contributing to project programmes, budgets and assurance processes.
Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification in electrical or power systems engineering, together with substantial experience in grid modelling, network studies and grid code compliance. Strong practical knowledge of simulation tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E, PSCAD or equivalent is required, alongside an understanding of transmission and distribution networks, renewable generation, battery energy storage and power electronic technologies. You will be confident explaining complex technical matters to both technical and non-technical audiences, producing clear documentation and influencing decisions across multidisciplinary teams. Professional registration, or active progress towards it, would be advantageous. A structured, analytical approach, strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.
