We are seeking an experienced Utility/Water/Wastewater Engineer to support the planning, design, delivery and improvement of essential water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio, contributing to the development of reliable, sustainable and cost-effective solutions that benefit communities and the environment. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, calculations, drawings and construction documentation; undertaking feasibility studies, site assessments and technical investigations; and developing designs for water supply, wastewater collection, treatment, pumping, storage and related utility infrastructure. You will assist with hydraulic modelling, asset assessments, risk evaluations and options appraisals, ensuring that proposed solutions meet relevant technical, environmental, health and safety requirements. You will also support project planning, cost estimation, procurement, construction monitoring and commissioning activities, while maintaining accurate records and providing clear technical advice.
Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, water, wastewater or a related engineering discipline, together with relevant experience in utility or infrastructure projects. Knowledge of UK water and wastewater standards, industry guidance, health and safety legislation and environmental permitting requirements is desirable. Experience with hydraulic modelling software, computer-aided design packages, asset management systems or other engineering tools would be advantageous. You should be able to manage competing priorities, communicate confidently with technical and non-technical audiences, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Professional registration, or active progress towards professional registration, is welcomed. A proactive approach, strong analytical ability and commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions are essential.
