Project Engineer

We are seeking a capable and motivated Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination and delivery of engineering projects from concept through to completion. This role will involve working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, suppliers and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required technical and quality standards. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative environment and will be expected to manage priorities effectively across multiple workstreams.

Key responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing engineering designs, specifications, programmes, technical reports and project documentation; coordinating design activities and resolving technical issues; monitoring project progress, costs, risks and resources; and supporting procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities where required. You will attend project meetings, provide clear progress updates, maintain accurate records and help ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, health and safety requirements and quality procedures. The role will also involve liaising with internal and external stakeholders, reviewing contractor and supplier submissions, assisting with change control, and identifying opportunities to improve project performance and delivery processes.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline, together with relevant experience in project engineering, engineering delivery or a similar role. You will need strong technical and analytical skills, sound commercial awareness and the ability to interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation. Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities are essential, along with confidence working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience using project management, engineering design or document control systems would be advantageous. A proactive approach, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work safely are fundamental to success in this position.
