Traffic Engineer, Project Manager

We are seeking a Traffic Engineer, Project Manager to lead the planning, design and delivery of transport and traffic projects from initial concept through to completion. This role will involve managing multidisciplinary projects, coordinating technical workstreams and ensuring that outcomes are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with clients, contractors, consultants, authorities and community stakeholders to develop practical, safe and sustainable transport solutions.

Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing traffic impact assessments, transport strategies, intersection and corridor studies, traffic management plans, parking assessments and road safety investigations. You will oversee traffic modelling, data analysis, site investigations and the preparation of technical reports, drawings, specifications and documentation. The successful candidate will manage project programmes, budgets, risks, procurement and reporting, while identifying opportunities to improve project outcomes. You will also provide technical guidance to project teams, review design work, support approvals and contribute to business development, tenders and client presentations.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, traffic engineering, transport planning or a related discipline, together with relevant professional experience in traffic or transport project delivery. Experience managing projects, budgets and stakeholder relationships is essential, as is a sound understanding of traffic engineering principles, road design standards, transport planning practices and relevant legislation. Familiarity with traffic modelling, design and project management software will be advantageous. You will bring strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities. A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement are highly valued. Professional registration or eligibility for registration with a recognised engineering body would be desirable.
