We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Estimator to support the planning and tendering of construction and civil engineering projects. In this role, you will prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive bids based on drawings, specifications, client requirements and relevant technical documentation. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure that all assumptions, quantities, resources and risks are properly assessed before submission.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing tender documents, conducting quantity take-offs, obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations, and preparing pricing calculations, budgets and tender documentation. You will identify potential cost risks, clarify discrepancies in project material, and contribute to developing efficient methods and solutions. The role may also involve participating in tender meetings, site visits and negotiations, as well as supporting the transition from awarded tender to project execution. Maintaining structured documentation and ensuring that estimates comply with contractual, technical and regulatory requirements will be an important part of your work.

We are looking for someone with relevant experience in estimating, quantity surveying, project costing or a related position within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure. You should be comfortable interpreting technical drawings and specifications and have a sound understanding of construction processes, materials and cost drivers. Strong numerical and analytical skills are essential, along with confidence using spreadsheets and relevant estimating or project management software. You work systematically, meet deadlines and pay close attention to detail, while also being able to make sound commercial judgements. Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines are important. A relevant technical or vocational qualification is advantageous, and knowledge of local industry standards, contracts and procurement practices will be considered a benefit.
