We are seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager – Hydraulic Modeling to lead the delivery of complex water and wastewater modelling projects. This senior role will involve managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating technical inputs and ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. You will provide strategic direction across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design, implementation and operational support.

Your responsibilities will include developing project plans, scopes, budgets, programmes and risk registers; managing client and stakeholder relationships; and ensuring effective communication across internal and external teams. You will oversee hydraulic modelling activities, including the development, verification, calibration and application of network models for water supply, wastewater, drainage and stormwater systems. You will interpret complex data, assess system performance, identify risks and constraints, and develop practical, evidence-based solutions to support investment planning and infrastructure improvements.

You will also contribute technical leadership, quality assurance and continuous improvement across modelling standards, tools and processes. The role requires you to review technical reports and deliverables, support business development opportunities, prepare proposals and provide mentoring to less experienced colleagues. You will be expected to promote safe working practices, uphold professional and ethical standards, and ensure that all work complies with relevant legislation, industry guidance and client requirements.

Applicants should have substantial experience delivering hydraulic modelling and infrastructure projects, ideally within the water, wastewater, drainage or environmental sectors. A strong understanding of industry-standard modelling software, data analysis, asset performance and network planning is essential, alongside proven project management experience. Excellent communication, commercial awareness, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills are required. A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience is expected, and membership of an appropriate professional body, or progress towards chartered status, would be advantageous.
