Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tunnelling Engineer fluent in German to join our client's esteemed team in Hamburg. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of major infrastructure projects across Germany, with a predominant focus on tunneling. Leveraging extensive experience and expertise in tunnelling engineering, you will lead and contribute to the successful execution of complex projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of tunneling projects, including planning, feasibility studies, and construction oversight.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions and ensure project objectives are met.
- Conduct comprehensive site investigations and assessments to identify potential challenges and mitigate risks.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on tunneling methods, materials, and construction techniques.
- Oversee the development of detailed designs, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in tunneling engineering, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Fluent in German (both written and spoken) is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of tunneling methods, including NATM, TBM, and cut-and-cover techniques.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and soil mechanics.
- Experience with relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and PLAXIS.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading project teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
