Traveling Senior Superintendent - Corrections
Travelling Senior Superintendent – Corrections
An experienced construction professional is sought for a senior leadership role delivering complex correctional and secure-sector projects across multiple locations. This is a travelling position suited to a confident operational leader who can manage large teams, coordinate specialist trades and maintain the highest standards of safety, quality and programme performance.
As Senior Superintendent, you will oversee site operations from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts and regulatory requirements. You will act as a key point of contact for project management teams, consultants, subcontractors and relevant authorities, providing clear direction and timely reporting throughout the build.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day site activities on major correctional, custodial or other highly secure construction projects.
- Plan labour, plant, materials and subcontractor resources to support programme milestones.
- Coordinate construction sequences, inspections, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
- Review progress against the programme, identify risks and implement effective recovery plans where required.
- Maintain rigorous standards of health and safety, quality assurance, security and environmental compliance.
- Manage site meetings, progress updates, documentation and communication with project stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop superintendents, foremen and wider site teams.
- Support commercial, procurement and change-management processes by providing accurate operational information.
About you
You will bring substantial experience supervising complex construction projects, ideally within corrections, secure facilities, healthcare, defence, infrastructure or similarly regulated environments. A strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing, contract administration and statutory compliance is essential, together with the ability to lead calmly in demanding circumstances.
Applicants should hold relevant construction qualifications and demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills. The role requires regular travel and extended periods on project sites, so flexibility and a willingness to work across different locations are important. In return, you will have the opportunity to make a visible contribution to challenging, high-value projects while working within a professional and collaborative delivery team.
