This is an excellent opportunity for a confident site leader with strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness and a proven record of managing complex mechanical installations.
Working closely with project management, engineering, procurement, subcontractors and client representatives, you will take responsibility for coordinating site operations from mobilisation through to completion and handover. You will ensure that works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, programme requirements, quality standards and health and safety legislation.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate mechanical construction activities, including installation, testing and commissioning.
- Lead site teams, supervisors and subcontractors, setting clear expectations and maintaining productivity.
- Review drawings, specifications, method statements and risk assessments to ensure buildability and compliance.
- Monitor progress against the construction programme and implement recovery plans where required.
- Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, electrical, civil and other project disciplines.
- Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and reporting on risks, issues and required actions.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, quality procedures and environmental requirements.
- Support the management of materials, plant, labour and subcontractor performance.
- Oversee inspection, testing, snagging, documentation and final handover activities.
About you
You will have substantial experience managing mechanical construction projects, ideally within industrial, commercial, manufacturing, energy or infrastructure environments. A relevant mechanical engineering or construction qualification is desirable, together with recognised health and safety training.
You should be able to interpret technical documentation, resolve site-based challenges and make sound decisions under pressure. Strong leadership, planning and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build productive relationships with clients, consultants and delivery teams.
In return, you will join a professional project environment offering varied responsibilities, the opportunity to contribute to significant construction work and scope for continued career development.
