This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional who can coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage interfaces and ensure that systems are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contractual requirements.
You will take ownership of commissioning strategies, programmes and documentation, working closely with project management, design, construction, engineering and client-side teams. The role will involve regular site activity, stakeholder engagement and the resolution of technical issues to ensure a smooth transition into operational use.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage comprehensive commissioning plans, programmes and inspection strategies.
- Coordinate commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, controls and specialist systems.
- Review designs, specifications and installation works to identify commissioning requirements and potential risks.
- Lead testing, inspection, pre-commissioning and performance verification activities.
- Manage commissioning engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist consultants.
- Monitor progress, address technical issues and provide clear reports to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with health and safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Oversee the completion of test records, operating manuals, training schedules and handover documentation.
- Support defect resolution, final acceptance and the transition to business-as-usual operations.
About you
You will have proven experience in a commissioning management role within construction, engineering, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing or a similarly regulated environment. A strong understanding of commissioning processes, systems integration and project delivery is essential, along with the ability to interpret technical information and manage competing priorities.
You should be a confident communicator with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. The ability to build effective working relationships, influence decision-making and maintain a strong focus on safety and quality is vital. Relevant technical qualifications, professional membership or formal commissioning certification would be advantageous.
In return, you will join a collaborative project environment offering the opportunity to deliver high-profile work, develop your expertise and make a tangible impact on successful project outcomes.
