- Lead and support project teams, including resident engineers, inspectors and technical specialists.
- Monitor construction progress, quality, costs, programme performance and compliance with approved designs.
- Review method statements, inspection and test plans, risk assessments and technical submissions.
- Coordinate site inspections, testing, records, reporting and the resolution of non-conformances.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, statutory bodies and other stakeholders.
- Identify and manage project risks, changes, claims and potential delays.
- Prepare accurate progress reports, forecasts, meeting records and completion documentation.
- Promote a positive health, safety, environmental and quality culture across all project activities.
About you
You will have proven experience managing civil engineering, highways, transport or other major infrastructure projects, ideally within a construction engineering and inspection environment. A relevant degree or professional qualification in civil engineering, construction management or a related discipline is desirable, together with recognised project management experience.
You should have excellent knowledge of construction processes, contract administration, quality assurance and industry standards. Strong communication, negotiation, organisational and problem-solving skills are essential. The ability to manage competing priorities, produce clear technical information and build effective working relationships will be key to your success.
A full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites may be required. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile infrastructure schemes while developing your leadership and technical expertise.
