Project Manager II - Engineering
Project Manager II - Engineering
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of engineering projects from initial definition through to completion. This role will involve coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing schedules and budgets, and ensuring that projects meet agreed technical, commercial, quality and safety standards.
You will work closely with engineering, operations, procurement, suppliers and other stakeholders to establish clear objectives and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will be confident managing competing priorities, identifying risks early and making sound, evidence-based decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets and resource forecasts.
- Lead project meetings, monitor progress and provide clear updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Coordinate internal teams, contractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies and change control, implementing mitigation plans where required.
- Monitor expenditure, approve costs within delegated authority and support accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with relevant standards, specifications, regulatory requirements and quality processes.
- Support design reviews, procurement activities, testing, commissioning and project close-out.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and safe working practices.
About you
You will have proven experience managing engineering or technically complex projects, with a track record of delivering work to agreed timescales, budgets and quality requirements. A degree, HND or equivalent qualification in engineering, project management or a related discipline is desirable, alongside recognised project management training or certification.
Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills are essential. You should be comfortable interpreting technical information, managing commercial considerations and communicating effectively with people at all levels. Experience using project management tools and reporting systems is expected, as is the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable project professional to take ownership of significant engineering programmes and make a visible contribution to their successful delivery.
