Webber - Field Engineer - Infrastructure Management
Field Engineer – Infrastructure Management
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a practical and technically minded Field Engineer to support the delivery, maintenance and improvement of infrastructure assets across a range of operational sites. This role will suit someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems on site and contributing to safe, reliable and efficient infrastructure management.
You will work closely with engineers, contractors, operational teams and stakeholders to inspect assets, coordinate planned works and respond to maintenance requirements. The position involves regular travel to field locations, so a methodical approach, strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out site inspections, condition assessments and routine asset checks.
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of maintenance and improvement works.
- Monitor contractors and ensure activities are completed safely, on programme and to the required standard.
- Investigate defects, faults and incidents, recommending appropriate remedial actions.
- Maintain accurate records, inspection reports, work orders and asset information.
- Assist with risk assessments, permits, method statements and compliance documentation.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational and technical issues.
- Contribute to projects involving infrastructure upgrades, renewals and lifecycle management.
About you
You will have experience in a field-based engineering, infrastructure, construction or asset management environment. A relevant technical qualification or demonstrable practical experience is desirable, along with an understanding of health and safety requirements, contractor management and planned maintenance principles.
You should be confident using digital systems to record information and produce reports, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar applications. The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and inspection data would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence is required, as the role includes travel between sites and occasional out-of-hours or emergency response duties. In return, you will join a supportive technical team, work on varied infrastructure activities and have opportunities to develop your engineering and asset management expertise.
