Project Manager – Land Development
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of land development projects from initial feasibility through to completion. This role will suit a commercially aware and highly organised professional with a strong understanding of planning, infrastructure, construction and development processes.
You will manage multiple projects, coordinating internal teams, consultants, contractors, local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure schemes are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with approved budgets, programmes and quality standards. The role requires confident decision-making, excellent communication skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues before they affect delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Manage land development projects through feasibility, planning, design, procurement, construction and handover stages.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project programmes, budgets, risk registers and reporting procedures.
- Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, statutory bodies and utility providers.
- Monitor progress, costs, quality, health and safety, and compliance with relevant legislation and approvals.
- Lead project meetings, provide clear updates and ensure actions are recorded and completed.
- Review technical information, designs, tender documentation and contractor performance.
- Support land appraisals, development assessments, planning submissions and infrastructure strategies.
- Manage change control, procurement activities, contractual matters and project documentation.
- Identify risks and opportunities, developing practical mitigation and recovery plans where required.
- Assist with the handover of completed works and ensure all relevant information is properly captured.
About you
You will have proven experience managing land, property, civil engineering or infrastructure development projects, ideally within a consultancy, developer, contractor or related environment. A relevant qualification in project management, construction, civil engineering, surveying, planning or a similar discipline is desirable.
You should be commercially astute, resilient and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of development processes, planning requirements, infrastructure delivery and construction standards is important, alongside excellent negotiation, reporting and stakeholder management skills. Professional membership or a recognised project management qualification would be advantageous.
A competitive salary and benefits package is available, together with the opportunity to work on varied and meaningful development projects with significant scope for professional growth.
