CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
Construction Project Manager
An experienced Construction Project Manager is required to lead the successful delivery of a range of construction projects from inception through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and highly organised professional who can manage complex programmes, coordinate multiple stakeholders and maintain a strong focus on quality, safety and customer satisfaction.
You will take overall responsibility for planning, managing and monitoring projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required specification. Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams, you will provide clear direction throughout each stage of the project lifecycle and ensure effective communication is maintained.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to practical completion and handover.
- Develop and manage detailed programmes, budgets, procurement plans and project documentation.
- Coordinate design development, approvals, site activities and the appointment of contractors and subcontractors.
- Monitor progress, costs, quality and risks, implementing corrective action where required.
- Chair progress meetings and provide accurate reports to senior stakeholders and clients.
- Ensure all works comply with health and safety legislation, building regulations and relevant industry standards.
- Manage variations, valuations, change control and commercial matters in collaboration with the commercial team.
- Support the resolution of technical, contractual and operational issues throughout the project.
- Oversee commissioning, snagging, completion certificates and the handover process.
About you
You will have proven experience managing construction projects, ideally within a main contracting, development or consultancy environment. A relevant qualification in construction management, civil engineering, building surveying or a related discipline is desirable, together with a recognised project management or site management qualification.
You should possess strong leadership, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work confidently with a wide range of stakeholders. Commercial awareness, sound knowledge of construction methods and contract administration, and a proactive approach to risk management are essential. A full driving licence may be required, depending on project locations.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality projects while developing your career within a professional and collaborative environment.
