Associate, Structured Finance – Energy
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join a specialist Structured Finance team focused on the energy sector. The successful candidate will support the origination and execution of tailored financing solutions for energy and infrastructure projects, working across a broad range of technologies, including renewable generation, energy storage, networks and transitional energy assets.
You will work closely with senior colleagues, clients, sponsors, advisers and other stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to develop strong expertise in project and structured finance while contributing to the delivery of complex, commercially significant transactions in a rapidly evolving sector.
Key responsibilities
- Support the origination, structuring, negotiation and execution of energy and infrastructure finance transactions.
- Prepare and review financial models, transaction analyses, credit papers, presentations and investment committee materials.
- Undertake detailed commercial, financial, technical, legal and market due diligence.
- Assess project cash flows, risks, sensitivities, contractual arrangements and proposed financing structures.
- Coordinate input from internal specialists, external advisers, lenders, sponsors and other transaction parties.
- Monitor the performance of existing transactions and assist with portfolio management, reporting and covenant compliance.
- Contribute to market research and the development of new business opportunities across the energy sector.
About you
You will have experience in structured finance, project finance, corporate finance, investment banking or a closely related field, ideally with exposure to energy, infrastructure or real assets. You should be confident working with financial models and interpreting complex financial and contractual information, with strong attention to detail and a sound understanding of credit and transaction risk.
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines. You will be commercially minded, analytical and collaborative, with the confidence to take ownership of workstreams and contribute effectively in a high-performing team. Relevant professional qualifications or a degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics or a related discipline would be advantageous.
