Land Development Project Manager II
We are seeking a Land Development Project Manager II to lead the planning, design, approval, and delivery of residential, commercial, and mixed-use land development projects. This role will manage projects from initial feasibility and due diligence through entitlement, engineering, construction coordination, and final closeout. The successful candidate will balance technical expertise, commercial awareness, and strong communication skills to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining project scopes, budgets, schedules, risk registers, and procurement plans; coordinating civil engineers, surveyors, architects, planners, environmental consultants, contractors, and other specialist advisers; and reviewing plans, reports, cost estimates, permits, and technical submissions. You will lead meetings, monitor project progress, resolve design and construction issues, and provide clear status updates to internal and external stakeholders. The role will also involve managing entitlement and permitting activities, liaising with local authorities and utility providers, supporting land acquisition and feasibility assessments, and ensuring compliance with applicable planning, environmental, health and safety, and development requirements.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, urban planning, real estate development, or a related discipline, together with substantial experience managing land development or infrastructure projects. Professional registration or a relevant project management qualification is advantageous. You will need proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing consultants and contractors, controlling budgets, and delivering projects through complex approval processes. Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, site development, drainage, utilities, roads, grading, and construction practices is preferred. Excellent analytical, organisational, negotiation, and written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in project management and document control software. The ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement, and work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach is required. Occasional travel and attendance at site visits, stakeholder meetings, and public authority consultations may be necessary.
