Commercial Construction Project Engineer- 2027

We are seeking a motivated Commercial Construction Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of construction projects commencing in 2027. This role is suited to an early-career construction professional who is eager to develop practical experience across project coordination, commercial management, procurement and site operations. Working alongside project managers, site teams, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with project planning and programming; reviewing drawings, specifications and construction documentation; coordinating technical queries, requests for information and design changes; and maintaining accurate project records. You will support cost tracking, budgets, progress claims, variations, purchase orders and subcontract administration, while helping to monitor project milestones and identify potential risks. The role will also involve attending site meetings, preparing reports, contributing to quality and safety processes, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues promptly. You may assist with procurement activities, tender comparisons, material tracking and the coordination of inspections, testing and handover documentation.

Applicants should hold, or be working towards, a degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, construction management, quantity surveying or a related discipline. Previous experience through internships, placements or entry-level construction roles is advantageous, as is familiarity with construction contracts, estimating, scheduling and project management software. Strong numerical, organisational and communication skills are essential, together with attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will be expected to demonstrate initiative, a practical approach to problem-solving and a commitment to workplace health and safety. A willingness to work between office and construction-site environments, learn from experienced professionals and contribute positively to project teams will be highly valued.
