Water Resources Project Manager

Key responsibilities will include preparing project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and procurement strategies; coordinating multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, regulators, and community stakeholders; and overseeing technical investigations, modelling, design development, environmental assessments, approvals, and construction activities. You will monitor progress, manage variations and commercial issues, provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders, and identify opportunities to improve project value and resilience. The role may involve projects relating to flood management, catchment planning, stormwater, drainage, water supply, wastewater, river restoration, or related natural resource management programmes.

You will bring substantial experience delivering water resources, civil infrastructure, or environmental projects, together with a relevant degree or professional qualification in engineering, environmental science, water management, project management, or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of project governance, contract administration, health and safety, environmental compliance, and risk management is essential. You should be confident interpreting technical information, managing competing priorities, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with common project management and reporting tools, as well as relevant industry contracts and regulatory frameworks, would be advantageous. A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to sustainable, community-focused outcomes are essential.
