We are seeking an experienced Cultural Resources Group Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering archaeological and cultural resources services across Northern California. This role combines technical leadership, project management, client development, and staff mentoring. The successful candidate will support a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects, helping clients navigate cultural resources requirements while ensuring work is completed to a high professional standard and in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities will include managing cultural resources investigations, surveys, evaluations, monitoring programs, treatment plans, and regulatory documentation; overseeing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables; and providing senior-level review of technical reports and compliance documents. You will coordinate with clients, agencies, Tribal representatives, consultants, and internal project teams, while identifying project risks and developing practical, legally defensible solutions. The position will also contribute to proposals, statements of qualifications, business development, and the continued growth of cultural resources services throughout Northern California.

Applicants should have a graduate degree in archaeology, anthropology, historic preservation, or a related discipline, along with substantial professional experience in cultural resources management and demonstrated knowledge of California archaeology, history, and regulatory frameworks, including CEQA and, preferably, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Experience applying the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards is required, with eligibility for relevant professional qualifications in archaeology or architectural history strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project locations are also required.
