Project Engineer

We are seeking a capable and organised Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of engineering projects from initial concept through to completion. This role will suit a technically minded professional who can coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage competing priorities and ensure that project outcomes meet agreed requirements for quality, cost, schedule and safety. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, construction, operations and external suppliers to translate project objectives into practical, deliverable plans.

Your responsibilities will include preparing technical documentation, scopes of work, programmes, estimates, risk assessments and progress reports. You will coordinate design reviews, monitor project milestones, track budgets and resources, and help identify and resolve technical or delivery issues before they affect project performance. You will also review drawings, specifications and contractor submissions, support tendering and procurement activities, and ensure that work is carried out in accordance with relevant standards, regulations and approved procedures. Regular communication with internal teams, clients, contractors and other project stakeholders will be essential, as will maintaining accurate project records and supporting commissioning, handover and close-out activities.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, project management or a related discipline, together with practical experience in a project engineering or engineering delivery environment. Experience managing schedules, costs, risks and technical interfaces is desirable, as is familiarity with project management tools and engineering software. You will need strong problem-solving, planning and communication skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team. A proactive approach, attention to detail and commitment to health, safety, quality and continuous improvement are essential. Depending on project requirements, occasional travel or site-based work may be required.
