We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to support water resources construction and infrastructure projects in Charlotte, NC. This role will assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects involving water, wastewater, stormwater, utilities, and related civil works. The successful candidate will work closely with project leadership, field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with approved plans and specifications.

Key responsibilities include coordinating daily field operations; reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, and method statements; monitoring progress, productivity, quality, and site conditions; and helping resolve technical or logistical issues. You will support workforce planning, equipment and material coordination, subcontractor oversight, site documentation, inspections, testing, and change management. The role will also involve participating in site meetings, maintaining accurate records and reports, supporting cost and schedule tracking, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements. A strong commitment to safe work practices and quality execution is essential.

Applicants should have experience in heavy civil construction, with exposure to water or wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, drainage systems, or other utility infrastructure preferred. A degree, diploma, or trade qualification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline is advantageous, along with several years of progressively responsible field experience. The ideal candidate will be able to interpret construction documents, use project scheduling and reporting tools, and communicate effectively with diverse teams. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills are required, as is the ability to work outdoors, manage changing priorities, and travel to project sites as needed. A valid driver’s licence and relevant safety certifications may be required.
