We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of heavy civil construction projects in the Atlanta, Georgia area. This role will work closely with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and clients to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Projects may include transportation infrastructure, roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, grading, site development, and other complex civil works.

Responsibilities will include assisting with project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, procurement, subcontractor coordination, change order management, and contract administration. You will help review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, pay applications, daily reports, and progress updates, while maintaining accurate project documentation. The successful candidate will participate in coordination meetings, monitor field progress, support quantity and productivity tracking, identify potential risks or delays, and help develop practical solutions. You will also assist with project closeout activities, including punch lists, as-built documentation, warranty records, and final turnover.

Candidates should have a degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline, together with relevant experience supporting heavy civil or infrastructure projects. Knowledge of construction processes, scheduling principles, cost control, contract documents, and safety requirements is essential. Experience with project management software, scheduling tools, document control platforms, and Microsoft Office is preferred. The role requires strong communication, organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in both office and active construction-site environments. A proactive approach, sound judgement, and commitment to safety and quality are expected. The ability to read and interpret civil drawings, communicate with diverse project stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities will be important. Occasional travel, extended hours, or site-based work may be required depending on project needs.
