Project Manager - Construction

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Construction to lead the successful delivery of building and infrastructure projects from initial planning through to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project scope, programme, budget, quality, and health and safety requirements while ensuring that work is delivered to the required standards and agreed deadlines.

Key responsibilities will include preparing project plans, schedules, budgets, procurement strategies, and risk assessments; coordinating design teams, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders; and monitoring progress against agreed milestones. You will manage contractual matters, variations, valuations, forecasting, and reporting, while identifying and resolving issues that may affect cost, time, quality, or delivery. The role will also involve chairing progress meetings, maintaining accurate project documentation, overseeing site activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant construction legislation, regulations, permits, and safety procedures. You will promote effective communication and collaboration across all project stakeholders and provide clear updates to senior management.

Applicants should have proven experience managing construction projects, ideally across the full project lifecycle and within a complex, regulated, or commercially focused environment. A relevant qualification in construction management, civil engineering, project management, or a related discipline is preferred, together with demonstrable knowledge of construction methods, contract administration, cost control, programme management, and risk mitigation. Professional membership or a recognised project management qualification would be advantageous. Strong leadership, negotiation, organisation, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure. You should be confident using project management and reporting software, interpreting technical information, and working effectively with diverse teams. A proactive, accountable, and practical approach, combined with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, will be highly valued.
