Investment Banking - Centre for Carbon Transition (CCT) - Analyst / Associate - London
An exciting opportunity is available for an Analyst or Associate to join a specialist Centre for Carbon Transition within an investment banking platform in London. The successful candidate will support clients and internal teams on strategic, financing and transactional projects linked to decarbonisation, energy transition and sustainable infrastructure. This role offers exposure to a broad range of sectors, including renewable energy, clean technology, utilities, transport, industrials and emerging carbon solutions.
Key responsibilities will include conducting industry, market and company research; analysing climate, energy and transition trends; preparing financial models, valuation analyses, business plans and transaction materials; and contributing to presentations, board papers and client communications. You will work closely with colleagues across corporate finance and sector teams to identify commercial opportunities, assess transition strategies and develop tailored advice. The role may also involve supporting mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, strategic reviews, due diligence and the evaluation of innovative technologies and business models. You will be expected to manage multiple priorities, produce high-quality analysis under tight deadlines and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Applicants should have relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, transaction advisory, strategy consulting, private equity, infrastructure or a closely related field. Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills are essential, alongside a genuine interest in climate change, sustainability and the transition to a lower-carbon economy. A degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, science or a related discipline is preferred, and professional qualifications or progress towards them would be advantageous. We are looking for commercially minded, detail-oriented professionals with excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to collaborate effectively. Experience with energy markets, sustainable finance, carbon markets, climate technologies or transition-related regulation would be particularly valuable.
