We are seeking an experienced Environmental Planning Project Principal to lead the delivery of complex planning and environmental projects across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, development and land-use initiatives. This role will suit a strategic, commercially aware professional who can provide trusted advice, manage multidisciplinary teams and guide projects through planning, assessment and approval processes.

You will oversee the preparation and review of environmental planning documents, impact assessments, planning reports and approval applications. Key responsibilities include developing project strategies, defining scopes, budgets and programs, coordinating technical specialists and consultants, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, regulators, community representatives and other stakeholders. You will identify planning and environmental risks, provide practical solutions, support business development activities and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget. The role will also involve mentoring team members, contributing to service improvement and maintaining awareness of changing legislation, policy and industry practice.

To be successful, you will have substantial experience in environmental planning, impact assessment, statutory planning or a related discipline, together with a relevant tertiary qualification. You will demonstrate a strong understanding of planning and environmental approval frameworks and a proven record of managing complex projects from inception through to delivery. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to interpret technical information and communicate clear, defensible recommendations to varied audiences. Strong organisational skills, sound commercial judgement and a collaborative leadership style will be highly valued. Experience working across major infrastructure, transport, energy, natural resources or urban development projects will be advantageous.
