Project Engineer (Solar EPC)
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of utility-scale and commercial solar photovoltaic projects from engineering design through construction and commissioning. The role will suit an organised and technically capable professional with experience in solar EPC, renewable energy, electrical engineering, or a related field. You will work closely with project managers, design teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved specifications, programmes, and budgets.
Key responsibilities will include reviewing and coordinating electrical, civil, and structural engineering designs; preparing and checking technical documentation, calculations, drawings, material schedules, and method statements; and supporting the selection and procurement of modules, inverters, mounting systems, switchgear, cabling, and other balance-of-system equipment. You will monitor engineering progress, identify technical risks, resolve design and construction issues, and ensure that works comply with relevant standards, grid connection requirements, permits, and health and safety expectations. The position will also involve supporting site teams during installation, conducting inspections, witnessing testing, managing technical queries, and assisting with commissioning, handover, and as-built documentation.
Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering, renewable energy, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline, together with relevant experience delivering solar PV or other energy infrastructure projects. A sound understanding of photovoltaic systems, electrical distribution, construction practices, and project controls is essential. Experience with design and document management software, AutoCAD, electrical design tools, or project scheduling systems would be advantageous. You should be comfortable interpreting technical drawings and specifications, communicating with stakeholders at all levels, and working to demanding deadlines. Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills are required, along with a practical approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
