Mid Level Water Resources Engineer
We are seeking a Mid Level Water Resources Engineer to contribute to the planning, design and delivery of water-related infrastructure and environmental projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support projects from concept through to construction and completion, providing practical and technically sound solutions for clients and communities. This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio, including stormwater management, flood risk assessment, drainage infrastructure, water quality, catchment planning and natural waterway projects.
Your responsibilities will include preparing hydraulic and hydrologic models, undertaking flood investigations and developing stormwater management strategies. You will produce technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications and design documentation, while contributing to feasibility studies, options assessments and detailed design packages. You will also assist with project planning, cost estimates, approvals and construction support, and collaborate with engineers, planners, environmental specialists, surveyors, contractors and stakeholders to achieve high-quality outcomes. The role may include site inspections, field investigations, data analysis and reviewing technical work completed by less experienced team members.
To be successful, you will hold a degree in civil or water resources engineering and have several years of relevant professional experience in water, drainage, floodplain or related infrastructure projects. Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software, such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, DRAINS, MUSIC or equivalent platforms, will be highly regarded. You will have a sound understanding of relevant technical standards, legislation, approval processes and industry practices, together with strong report-writing, communication and problem-solving skills. The ability to manage competing priorities, work effectively in a team and build positive relationships with clients and project stakeholders is essential. Professional registration or progress toward registration, along with a current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake occasional site travel, will be advantageous.
