Water/Wastewater EIT
We are seeking a motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers, you will contribute to projects involving water treatment and distribution systems, wastewater collection and treatment facilities, pumping stations, storage facilities, drainage systems, and related civil infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise while gaining exposure to projects from initial assessment and concept development through detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
Key responsibilities will include preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and tender documentation; assisting with hydraulic modelling and system analysis; supporting site investigations, condition assessments, inspections, and construction administration; and coordinating with clients, contractors, regulators, and multidisciplinary project teams. You may also assist with reviewing shop drawings and technical submittals, responding to requests for information, monitoring project schedules and budgets, and ensuring designs meet applicable codes, standards, health and safety requirements, and environmental regulations. The successful candidate will be encouraged to take ownership of assigned tasks while seeking guidance when needed and maintaining accurate project records.
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering and be eligible for, or working toward, professional engineering registration. Previous internship, co-op, or entry-level experience in water, wastewater, municipal infrastructure, or a related consulting environment is desirable. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydraulic modelling software, Microsoft Office, and technical documentation practices will be considered an asset. Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills are essential, along with attention to detail, sound time-management abilities, and a collaborative approach. A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel occasionally to project sites may be required.
