We are seeking an experienced Lead Piping/Civil/Mechanical/Structural Designer to support the delivery of complex industrial and infrastructure projects from concept through to construction. This role will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities, ensuring that engineering outputs are safe, practical, compliant with applicable standards, and delivered to agreed quality, cost, and schedule requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, project managers, planners, construction teams, suppliers, and clients to develop effective design solutions and resolve technical issues.

Key responsibilities will include preparing, reviewing, and approving design deliverables such as layouts, general arrangements, piping plans, isometrics, equipment arrangements, civil and structural drawings, 3D models, material take-offs, specifications, and technical reports. You will coordinate interfaces between piping, mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines; identify clashes and constructability concerns; participate in design reviews, hazard studies, and project meetings; and provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced team members. The role will also involve monitoring design progress, managing priorities, checking drawing and model quality, supporting procurement and construction queries, and ensuring that changes are properly assessed, documented, and incorporated.

Applicants should have substantial experience in multidisciplinary engineering design, preferably within an industrial, energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, or process environment. A strong working knowledge of relevant codes, standards, design practices, drafting procedures, and 2D/3D design software is essential. Experience with plant layouts, piping systems, mechanical equipment, structural steelwork, foundations, and site development would be highly advantageous. You will need excellent coordination, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, together with the ability to manage competing deadlines and work effectively across technical teams. A relevant technical qualification or equivalent professional experience is required, while experience leading design teams and liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers will be valued.
