Resident Mechanical Engineer - Hydraulic Steel Structures

About the Role
Our client is seeking highly qualified and experienced Resident Engineers to oversee mechanical works related to hydraulic steel structures on large-scale hydropower infrastructure projects.
These roles are based on-site in Pakistan and offer long-term engagement on technically complex and nationally significant developments.
The successful candidates will be responsible for supervising the execution of mechanical works, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and providing leadership and technical oversight throughout the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all mechanical works related to hydraulic steel structures, including gates, penstocks, valves, and associated components.
- Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and international standards.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project schedules and quality benchmarks.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, electrical, and structural engineers.
- Review technical documentation, drawings, and method statements.
- Provide on-site engineering solutions and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Prepare regular progress reports and contribute to project meetings and reviews.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 20 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.
- At least 15 years of experience supervising mechanical works, with a strong focus on hydraulic steel structures in hydropower or similar infrastructure projects.
- Minimum of 10 years in a leadership role as Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer on comparable projects.
Additional Requirements
- Strong understanding of international codes and standards related to hydraulic steel structures.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and ensure quality control on-site.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Willingness to work in remote project locations on a full-time basis.
