We are seeking an Associate Technical Director, Roads and Highways, to support the growth and delivery of complex transportation infrastructure projects across North America. This senior role will provide technical leadership, project oversight and strategic direction on the planning, design and delivery of roads, highways, interchanges and related transportation facilities. You will work closely with clients, multidisciplinary teams, contractors and public-sector stakeholders to develop practical, innovative and sustainable solutions that meet technical, commercial and community objectives.

Responsibilities will include leading technical teams and serving as a senior advisor on major transportation assignments; directing the preparation and review of design reports, drawings, specifications, calculations and contract documents; contributing to project pursuits, proposals, scope development and fee estimates; and supporting project managers with risk, quality, schedule and resource management. You will help establish technical standards, promote consistent design practices and identify opportunities to improve project delivery. The role will also involve mentoring engineers and designers, fostering collaboration across disciplines and representing the business at client meetings, industry events and professional forums.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline, with a professional engineering licence, or the ability to obtain one, in a relevant North American jurisdiction. Significant experience delivering roads and highways projects is essential, together with strong knowledge of applicable design standards, codes, specifications and approval processes. Experience with major transportation programmes, alternative delivery models, stakeholder engagement and business development is highly valued. You will bring sound technical judgement, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to lead teams while managing competing priorities. A collaborative mindset, commitment to quality and safety, and enthusiasm for developing sustainable, resilient infrastructure are essential.
