We are seeking an experienced Structures Design Manager to lead the delivery of complex structural engineering projects across North America. This is an opportunity to provide technical leadership on major transportation, buildings, infrastructure, or industrial programmes while working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and specialist consultants. The successful candidate will help shape innovative, practical, and sustainable structural solutions from concept through detailed design, construction, and completion.

Responsibilities will include managing structural design activities, coordinating project resources, reviewing technical deliverables, and ensuring that work is completed to agreed scope, budget, programme, and quality standards. You will establish design strategies, oversee calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, and provide constructive technical guidance to engineers and designers. The role will also involve identifying and managing design risks, supporting constructability reviews, contributing to bids and proposals, and maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. You will promote consistent engineering standards, digital design practices, health and safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement across projects.

Applicants should hold a degree in civil or structural engineering and have substantial professional experience delivering structural design projects, ideally within a consultancy or engineering-led environment. Professional registration, such as PE, SE, or equivalent, is preferred, along with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating work across multiple offices or locations. Strong knowledge of relevant North American codes, standards, design software, and digital collaboration tools is required. You should be an effective communicator with sound commercial awareness, strong organisational skills, and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced project environment. A collaborative leadership style, commitment to technical excellence, and willingness to support the development of colleagues are essential.
