MEP Project Manager
MEP Project Manager
An experienced MEP Project Manager is required to lead the successful delivery of mechanical, electrical and public health services across complex construction and engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional who can manage technical delivery, commercial performance and stakeholder expectations from pre-construction through to completion.
You will take overall responsibility for coordinating MEP activities, ensuring that works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards. Working closely with design teams, contractors, consultants and site management, you will resolve technical issues, monitor progress and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the planning, coordination and delivery of MEP packages from design development through to commissioning and handover.
- Review drawings, specifications, programmes and technical submissions to identify risks, conflicts and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead regular design, progress and coordination meetings, ensuring actions are recorded and followed through.
- Coordinate subcontractors and specialist suppliers, monitoring performance, productivity and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Work with commercial teams to control budgets, assess variations and support procurement and cost reporting.
- Ensure all works comply with current health and safety legislation, building regulations, relevant British Standards and project procedures.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, documentation and the timely completion of snagging and handover requirements.
- Provide clear progress updates and risk reports to senior management and other key stakeholders.
About you
You will have proven experience managing MEP delivery on large-scale construction, infrastructure or engineering projects, together with a strong understanding of building services design, installation and commissioning. A relevant technical or construction-related qualification is desirable, and professional memberships or recognised project management qualifications would be advantageous.
Strong leadership, commercial awareness and problem-solving skills are essential. You should be confident managing competing priorities, influencing project partners and making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound IT literacy and a proactive approach to risk management are also required.
What is offered
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, alongside the opportunity to work on significant projects with genuine scope for professional development and career progression.
