Project Engineer - Land Development
Project Engineer – Land Development
An exciting opportunity is available for a Project Engineer to join a growing land development team delivering high-quality residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. This role will involve supporting projects from initial feasibility and concept design through to detailed design, approvals, construction and completion.
Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and local authorities, you will contribute to the successful delivery of civil engineering and land development schemes. You will be expected to manage technical tasks effectively, maintain clear communication with stakeholders and ensure that designs meet relevant standards, planning requirements and project objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review civil engineering designs for roads, drainage, earthworks, utilities and associated infrastructure.
- Produce drawings, specifications, calculations, reports and technical documentation using appropriate design software.
- Support planning, approval and consent processes, liaising with statutory authorities and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate technical information from multidisciplinary project teams and identify design risks or clashes.
- Assist with project programming, cost estimates, fee proposals and the monitoring of budgets and deliverables.
- Attend project meetings, site inspections and construction progress reviews as required.
- Provide technical support during construction, responding to queries and reviewing contractor submissions.
- Help develop junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement across engineering processes.
About you
You will ideally hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering and have relevant experience in land development, infrastructure or consulting engineering. Experience with design packages such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD or similar systems would be advantageous, along with a sound understanding of drainage, highways, earthworks and utility coordination.
You should be organised, commercially aware and confident managing multiple priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of assigned tasks. A professional qualification, or active progress towards one, would be welcomed. A full UK driving licence may be required for occasional site visits.
