Assistant Project Manager – Concrete & Structural Construction
We are seeking an organised and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of concrete and structural construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to develop their project management career while working across complex, high-value schemes.
Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, you will help coordinate site activities, monitor progress and ensure works are completed safely, on time and to the required quality standards. You will contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning and procurement through to completion and handover.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of concrete, reinforced concrete and structural construction packages.
- Monitor project programmes, milestones, costs and resource requirements, reporting progress and potential risks.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and site teams to maintain efficient project delivery.
- Support the preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments, inspection and test plans, and other project documentation.
- Attend progress meetings, record actions and help ensure agreed actions are completed.
- Assist with commercial administration, including valuations, variations, procurement and cost reporting.
- Promote high standards of health and safety, quality and environmental compliance across all activities.
- Support snagging, testing, commissioning and final handover documentation.
About you
You will have experience in a construction, civil engineering or structural environment, with a sound understanding of concrete works, construction methods and site operations. Experience supporting projects involving reinforced concrete, steel structures, foundations or frame construction would be advantageous.
Applicants should be confident communicating with a range of stakeholders and able to build effective working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and clients. Strong organisational skills, commercial awareness and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A relevant qualification in construction, civil engineering, structural engineering or project management is desirable. You should also be comfortable using standard project management and Microsoft Office software. A full driving licence may be required, depending on project location.
