Structures Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Structures Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of structural construction activities on a major project. The successful candidate will coordinate site operations, supervise construction teams and subcontractors, and ensure work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules and applicable regulations. This role requires strong leadership, sound technical knowledge and the ability to maintain effective communication across engineering, planning, quality, safety and commercial functions.
Key responsibilities will include planning and coordinating daily structural works; monitoring progress against programme milestones; allocating labour, plant, materials and equipment; and resolving site-based technical or logistical issues. You will supervise activities such as foundations, reinforced concrete, steelwork, formwork, rebar installation, lifting operations and associated structural packages, depending on project requirements. You will review method statements, inspection and test plans, risk assessments and construction documentation, ensuring that all works are properly controlled and recorded. The role will also involve coordinating interfaces between trades, attending progress and coordination meetings, supporting inspections, and driving the timely close-out of defects, documentation and handover requirements.
Applicants should have substantial experience in a structures supervision or superintendent position within civil engineering, infrastructure, industrial, commercial or related construction environments. A relevant technical qualification or trade background is desirable, together with a strong understanding of construction methods, quality assurance, temporary works, site safety and environmental requirements. You must be able to interpret technical drawings, manage competing priorities and lead diverse teams in a demanding site environment. Strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills are essential. The ability to promote a positive safety culture, maintain high standards of workmanship and work collaboratively with project stakeholders will be critical to success. A valid driving licence and any required site certifications may also be necessary.
