Assistant Corrosion Project Manager
An Assistant Corrosion Project Manager is required to support the planning, coordination and delivery of corrosion management projects across industrial, energy, infrastructure or marine environments. Working closely with project managers, engineers, inspectors, contractors and clients, you will help ensure that work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with relevant technical and regulatory requirements. This is an opportunity for a technically minded professional to develop project management experience while contributing to the integrity and reliability of critical assets.
Key responsibilities will include assisting with project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers and progress reports; coordinating site surveys, inspection programmes, corrosion assessments and remedial works; preparing scopes of work, technical documentation and procurement information; and tracking deliverables, costs, variations and project milestones. You will help arrange meetings, record actions and follow up outstanding items, while maintaining clear communication with internal teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors. The role will also involve reviewing inspection findings, supporting the development of corrosion control strategies, monitoring health and safety performance, and ensuring that project records and quality documentation are complete and accurately maintained. Occasional travel to operational or client sites may be required.
Applicants should have experience in corrosion management, materials engineering, inspection, maintenance, construction or a related technical discipline, together with an understanding of project delivery principles. A relevant degree, diploma or professional qualification is desirable, as is familiarity with corrosion mechanisms, protective coatings, cathodic protection, asset integrity or inspection standards. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise tasks, analyse technical information and work effectively with a range of stakeholders. Experience using scheduling, reporting or document management systems will be beneficial. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach, attention to detail and a commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement. Training and development opportunities may be available for someone with the right technical foundation and the ambition to progress into a full project management position.
