Low Voltage Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of low-voltage electrical systems across commercial, industrial, institutional, or infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will provide field leadership for installation activities, coordinate site operations, and ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, schedules, and applicable codes. Systems may include structured cabling, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, audio-visual, public address, data networks, and other communications or security systems.
Key responsibilities include supervising forepersons, technicians, subcontractors, and other field personnel; assigning daily work; monitoring productivity; and coordinating labour, materials, tools, and equipment. You will review drawings, specifications, and project documentation, identify potential conflicts, and work closely with project managers, general contractors, engineers, and other trades to resolve issues promptly. The role will also involve conducting site inspections, verifying installations, supporting testing and commissioning, maintaining accurate daily reports, tracking progress, and contributing to project planning and forecasting. You will be expected to enforce safety procedures, participate in toolbox meetings, promote quality workmanship, and ensure deficiencies are corrected without delay.
Applicants should have substantial experience supervising low-voltage installations, preferably on large-scale or technically complex projects. A strong understanding of relevant electrical and life-safety codes, industry standards, construction practices, and testing requirements is essential. The ability to interpret drawings and schematics, use project-management or field-reporting software, and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders is required. Relevant trade qualifications, licences, certifications, or formal training in electrical, communications, or security systems are advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate sound leadership, strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining schedule, safety, and quality expectations. Travel, extended hours, or work across multiple project sites may be required.
