Field Assistant Superintendent

We are seeking a Field Assistant Superintendent to support the successful delivery of construction projects from mobilisation through completion. Working closely with the Superintendent, project management team, subcontractors, consultants, and site personnel, you will help coordinate daily field activities, maintain a safe and organised work environment, and ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities include assisting with site planning and logistics; coordinating subcontractor activities and deliveries; monitoring progress against the project schedule; reviewing drawings, specifications, and field conditions; and helping identify and resolve construction issues. You will participate in site meetings, maintain accurate daily reports, track manpower and materials, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders. The role also involves supporting inspections, quality control, testing, deficiency tracking, closeout activities, and the implementation of health, safety, and environmental requirements. You may be required to interpret project documentation, assist with change management, and escalate risks, delays, or potential conflicts promptly.

The successful candidate will have experience in construction, civil works, building services, or a related field, ideally in a site coordination or supervisory capacity. A relevant trade qualification, diploma, or degree is advantageous, as is familiarity with construction scheduling, project documentation, and industry safety practices. You should be able to read technical drawings, use standard computer and reporting tools, and communicate effectively with people at all levels. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment are essential. A commitment to teamwork, professionalism, quality workmanship, and safe working practices is required. This position may involve regular travel across active project sites, outdoor work, and occasional extended hours to meet project demands.
