Work locations and schedules may vary depending on project needs, with regular travel to survey sites and the flexibility to complete administrative tasks remotely.

Responsibilities may include conducting biological surveys for wildlife, nesting birds, sensitive species, vegetation, and habitats; documenting field observations using standard protocols; identifying species and signs of wildlife activity; and supporting habitat assessments and impact evaluations. You may also assist with pre-construction surveys, biological monitoring, environmental compliance inspections, restoration activities, and implementation of avoidance and minimisation measures. Applicants should have a degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline, together with relevant professional or field experience. Knowledge of California flora, fauna, habitats, and applicable environmental regulations is highly desirable. Experience with species identification, wildlife handling or permitting, GIS, database systems, and technical report writing would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be organised, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently in varied terrain and weather conditions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage changing priorities are essential. A valid driver’s licence, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to project sites are required.
