We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to support the planning, design and delivery of projects that improve the management, protection and resilience of water resources. This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio, including drainage, flood risk management, stormwater systems, water supply, river engineering and sustainable water infrastructure. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, regulators and contractors to develop practical, technically robust solutions that meet environmental, regulatory and community needs.

Your responsibilities will include preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates; undertaking hydrological and hydraulic assessments; and contributing to the design of drainage networks, flood mitigation measures, water-related infrastructure and nature-based solutions. You will use appropriate modelling and design software to assess system performance, interpret data and support informed decision-making. The role will also involve site inspections, reviewing construction information, supporting project delivery and maintaining clear, accurate records. Depending on experience, you may also coordinate tasks, provide technical guidance to colleagues and contribute to bids, programmes and client presentations.

Applicants should hold a degree in civil engineering, water resources engineering, environmental engineering or a related discipline, with relevant professional experience in water, drainage, flood risk or hydraulic engineering. Familiarity with industry standards, environmental legislation, planning requirements and health and safety procedures is essential. Experience with hydraulic modelling packages, GIS, CAD and data analysis tools would be advantageous. You should be able to communicate technical information clearly, manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Professional accreditation, or active progress towards professional registration, is desirable. A proactive approach, strong analytical ability and commitment to delivering sustainable, high-quality outcomes are essential for success in this position.
