We are seeking a Self Perform Estimator II to support the preparation of accurate, competitive estimates for construction work delivered directly by internal field teams. This role will evaluate project documents, develop detailed cost estimates, and help establish reliable budgets for labour, materials, equipment, subcontracted services, and general conditions. The successful candidate will collaborate with project managers, superintendents, procurement teams, and operations personnel to ensure estimates reflect practical means and methods, current market conditions, and project requirements.

Key responsibilities include reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work, schedules, and addenda; performing quantity take-offs; preparing labour productivity and crew analyses; obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations; and identifying exclusions, assumptions, risks, and opportunities. You will assist with bid strategy, estimate reviews, value engineering, and the preparation of clear proposals and supporting documentation. The role will also contribute to post-bid handovers, estimating databases, cost history, and lessons-learned activities to improve future accuracy. You may be required to participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, client discussions, and negotiations, while maintaining consistent estimating standards and thorough records.

Applicants should have several years of experience in construction estimating, preferably with exposure to self-perform scopes such as concrete, earthworks, civil works, structural work, utilities, or building services. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, labour requirements, equipment utilization, and cost principles is essential. The position requires the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, work confidently with estimating and spreadsheet software, and manage multiple deadlines with a high level of accuracy. Effective communication, commercial awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to build productive relationships across project teams are also important. A relevant degree, diploma, trade background, or equivalent industry experience will be considered an advantage.
