Industrial Water Process Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Water Process Engineer to support the design, optimisation and delivery of water and wastewater treatment solutions for industrial facilities. The role will involve developing practical, cost-effective processes that meet operational, environmental and regulatory requirements across a range of challenging applications. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, suppliers and site personnel to ensure that projects are technically sound and successfully implemented.

Key responsibilities will include assessing industrial water and wastewater characteristics; preparing process concepts, mass balances, process flow diagrams and equipment specifications; and supporting the selection and sizing of treatment technologies such as clarification, filtration, biological treatment, membrane systems, chemical dosing, sludge handling and water reuse. You will contribute to feasibility studies, detailed design, tender documentation, commissioning and performance testing. The position will also involve reviewing technical submissions, managing process risks, investigating plant performance issues and recommending improvements to reliability, efficiency and compliance. Occasional site visits may be required to conduct surveys, support installation activities and provide commissioning or operational assistance.

The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in chemical, environmental, civil or process engineering, together with relevant experience in industrial water or wastewater treatment. A strong understanding of water chemistry, treatment processes, process modelling and applicable environmental standards is essential. Experience with design software, technical report writing, process control systems and project delivery would be advantageous. You should be analytical, commercially aware and confident communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and collaborate effectively within project teams is important. A commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental performance is expected, along with a practical approach to solving complex engineering problems.
